Types and Uses of Security Audit Programs
Security is a paramount concern for most families and companies. Security is able to protect people and companies from theft, damage and harm. The right security systems are essential to providing the right amount of protection without jeopardizing the freedoms and privacy of the individual. Security audit programs both assess the amount of security being offered and the potential for damage, loss or a lack of privacy. These audits can be used to detect lacks of security in computer systems, homes and business administrations. Providing the safest world possible is the end goal for these security programs and audits. The peace of mind that comes along with the audits is a reassurance that everything that can be done to protect the individual is being done. The need for security is not a new need. So long as someone has had something that others want, there has been a need for security. This is seen in the animal kingdom, in human history and in current human lives. There will always be people who feel that they need something that someone else has. This type of greed is part of human, and in truth animal, nature. The ideology that the grass is greener where someone else is or that their bone is bigger is a well know fact. There have been millions of fables and stories that illustrate this point. In each of these situations, the person who has what is wanted implements some type of a security and security audit program. In today's world, the point of least resistance in a person's life is the computer. The average person has more personal information on their computer than they have anywhere else. This is why security audit programs for the computer have become big business. While there are increases in computer security, there are criminals looking for ways to overcome those devices and infiltrate the computer. The most common method for doing this is spyware and computer viruses/worms. Computer security programs such as Norton have been designed and constantly upgraded to protect the computer and person from these threats. Information Security Risk Security Window Envelopes |
